Event Details
This month's ride on Saturday 9/17 will start in downtown Santa Cruz from the Bike Church! This ride is super-special, as we give a heartfelt thanks & congrats to our fearless leader, Jessica. Jessica departs this month for a promotion that requires a move north. But do not fear: She is "handing off the cowbell," and GR will go on! Even if you can't ride, stop by to say hi. Post-ride, come by Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery on the West Side for no-host refreshments.
It's also our first-ever GR Gear Exchange: Bring your new or gently used bike clothing, accessories, saddles, pedals, components and gear that you would like to find a good home for. This exchange will take place BEFORE the ride (note the revised time) and will be an opportunity to share your unwanted bike stuff with fellow GR riders - no cash or barter required. We'll donate any left over bike parts & accessories to The Bike Church and gear / clothing to Trips for Kids.
Saturday’s ride will be open to ALL LEVELS. Please refer to our Ride Level descriptions for more info. Riders will start from the Bike Church and head out to area trailheads by bike.
Saturday 9/17 - Ride Day Schedule
- 9:00-10am – Participant arrival & Gear / Clothing Exchange
- 9:30am – Ride guide meeting
- 10am – Announcements, group photo
- 10:30 – Organize into ride levels and roll out
- 1-3ish – Come by to say hi to Jessica at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery (SCMB), 402 Ingalls St, SC, for no-host food & drink post-ride
Note: The Bike Church will open by 8am for those who have volunteered to help with set-up / check-in.

If you drive, most downtown parking lots are $5 all day, downtown Santa Cruz street parking is by meter.
